Telephone Systems
PBX telephone systems have major advantages over using multiple independent telephone lines. Every telephone is assigned its own extension number, and each extension can dial another extension without going through the public telephone network. This means that internal calls are completely free of charge. Calls can also be transferred from one extension to another or placed on hold.
